This site is all about the 1994 Kona Explosif, a classic retro mountain bike in many ways, and tells the story of one particular 94 Explosif that almost died. I had the chance to rescue it from possible extinction, repair it and build it up into a capable and very enjoyable little bike.
I’ve written some notes of how I found it repaired it, which hopefully might be helpful to somebody thinking about doing the same thing, plus stuff about the frame and its design, including some Kona documentation and some history of the Kona brand.
